I’m a wife, mother and a self-employed Professional Writer and Project Coordinator of sorts.
I’m also part way through studying for an MBA (Masters in Business Administration) just because business enterprise and entrepreneurship fascinates me and the “How do you do well in business?” question can keep me awake a night.
This ‘About Me’ is not meant to be a CV as such, but just because some of this will crop up in conversation in my blog posts here’s a little of what I currently do.
For nearly a decade I coordinated all the testing for the annual Mother & Baby Awards. Last year it grew to 650 different products that needed to have 10 separate test reviews each from mums with their babies from right across the corners of the UK, from Shetland to the Lizard. I can’t tell you why I did this for so long, perhaps I’m a sucker for punishment? Maybe I hankered to discover the ‘all bells and whistles’ pushchair I never had for my own? Or it could be that I just like creating spreadsheets for things I can organise…if only it were possible to slot my family onto on? (sigh).
But when it comes to organising product testing, or market research that involves writing reviews, questionnaires and analysing results, I’m now a master of such stuff.
I’ve also written features (mostly about business and food) for Cornwall Today – my local, glossy regional magazine. I can write copy for print, web and I can show you how to get the best out of such time-wasting activities as Twitter, Facebook and so on can easily be.
In a nutshell, I have both a creative mind and an analytical head.
I’m a creative but practical solution solver.
